Never really paid much attention to the star rating, mainly check tide height, anything above 8.1 in the right conditions makes me frisky in that bore fetish way !

Are your huskies fit and well for the march trip ?

Down the line shots, Tristan. That's what I want to see.

I want to see the shape of the wave, the landscape, and the crew riding the tide.

Oh...and I want it with a stable view.

And I want someone to be filmed as they emerge from one of Sabrina's exquisite little barrells.

I hardly think that's asking too much. Wink

Not asking for much lol Would be nice to capture all of that and it will be a lot of fun trying!

Loving the vids. Nate I dig the way yours has a little story to it. I don't have to surf any more, or hustle for the shoulder, or get cold wet and muddy - I can experience it all from my sofa! Cuts down on diesel expense too  Grin Grin

I have the solution. Two GoPro HD cameras mounted side by side at different angles and then combined in editing for ultra widescreen! Might work too. YouTube now allows for a full 2.35:1 cinematic ratio. In fact, how about four GoProHD's to get the vertical resolution, and then displayed on a Ultra HD display! Might cost a bit to rent that though... Actually make that a heck of a lot.

Get over it Trev, as you say it's 'once a year' press crap. I love to see the crowds enjoying the river and it's good for the awareness that it's too good to trash.  Smiley

The river is there for everyone to use, people have used it and it's tides for years and years. No one man takes ownership of the river.  What annoys me more is disrespecting of the force that we are lucky to make use out of most months.

i think that this year we may well have to endure another media assault or two . the bore has already made TV news and newspapers, and there are bigger tides yet to come.  a part of me loves to see our friends and our wave in the media but a rather selfish part of me wants to keep it a (badly kept) secret.

mind you, when i'm in the frame i reserve the right to change my (poo) stance.

The media can be a pain in that for the big waves it brings chaos. But then again some of the smaller waves throughout the year, the majority, that sometimes offer better conditions don't get that publicity and attention. Plus don't forget that the media is also a friend. With the barrage thing going on the area and the phenomenon needs all the positive publicity it can get.

Well the itv people seemed very positive about bore riding and the natural phenomonen (?) that is the bore so i think any time they cover it we should be grateful really as if we can get them to keep promoting it and then make people realise that a barrage will kill it and not work and be expensive it may be worth all the interest.

Plus we might get on tv so i am off to practise my rob machado laid back stance!!
